This might be your sign to look at this easy daily house cleaning schedule for busy moms!
Cleaning your home while having kids, working, multi-tasking, and everything else that happens at home is a never-ending cycle.
And if you don’t have a house cleaner to pick up the mess once a week or month, it can add that pinch of stress of trying to figure out how to get it done.
I don’t have anyone cleaning my home and my husband works all day, so I usually do most of the cleaning AND with seven of us in my house!
Having my first child, I remember trying to clean and focus in ONE area for an hour and then not cleaning it again for the next 2 weeks. Gahhh!
I was tired, mentally drained, and it seemed too difficult to clean. It felt impossible.
Now I’ve created a system to help you clean your home as a busy mom and make it easy daily!
There are links in my post where I can earn a small commission if you decide to purchase at no cost to you.
Benefits of a daily house cleaning schedule for busy moms
Cleaning your home sounds like a great BIG task but if you break it down by section, you can create a peaceful atmosphere and mental clarity.
I never understood cleaning schedules before kids but now I know it’s a necessary thing to keep your house flowing easy as a busy mom.
And I know we don’t want a messy house but sometimes life happens and we might have some clutter in the home!
Here are some benefits of having a cleaning schedule:
- Less stress (you need your sanity momma!)
- Consistency
- Time efficiency
- Flexibilty
When you clean your home it feels good to see everything put away and your brain feels relaxed.
As you become consistent with cleaning, you’ll know exactly what task to finish and it’ll feel welcoming.
My favorite part of having a cleaning schedule is breaking down parts of the home into smaller chunks, and so you’ll create dedicated time in each area.
Due to family needs, it’s also good to make it flexible since every day is different (kids getting sick etc.) but customize your schedule to what you can do.
Key tips for creating a daily cleaning routine
Here are some tips for you to create a daily cleaning schedule and get your home to where it needs to be! ( I’ve got faith in ya!)
I’m not sure if other cleaning creators do this but I will share with you how I get cleaning done effectively daily in a limited amount of time.
Prioritize rooms/Tasks: Choose rooms that have high traffic first and then go to the ones with the least traffic. Ex. Bathrooms are my high-traffic rooms and then I clean up my dining room last since there’s not much to clean.
Timeblocks: Time yourself when you start cleaning a room so you can see how long it takes for you to clean. This allows you to time your schedule. Choose a time that works in your day to clean your home. This could be Mon-Fri, weekends only, three days a week etc.
Invest in tools: Try purchasing items that will help you clean your home.
Here are my favorite items I use now:
- Handheld vacuum
- Microfiber glass window cleaner
- Sprayway Glass cleaner
- Fleece Refills
- Cleaning gloves
- Lysol Wipes
- Shark Vacuum
- Hoover Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner
- Shark Matrix Robot Vacuum
Make it fun or a learning opportunity: Pop in your earbuds and listen to music or a podcast during cleaning days! I like to catch up on my audiobooks and affirmations.

Time-saving hacks for cleaning as a busy Mom
We all need some time-saving hacks to clean our homes in this crazy season right? I’ll take whatever tips that will make my life easier and I’m here to help you, momma.
Here are a few items and tips I suggest and will explain below:
- Caddy holder
- Corner method
- Power cleans
Having a caddy has made my cleaning days organized! I keep everything I use in this one caddy from dusting, wiping down windows, cleaning the bathroom etc.
It’s easy to grab and go from room to room in the house and you can keep inventory.
The Corner Method
Additionally, I learned this one amazing hack from my cleaning lady when she helped clean my house when I had my son.
I call it the “corner method” since I would notice how she was able to clean my home so fast!
She would start in the kitchen (you can start anywhere) but she would start in one corner and work her way through the kitchen covering all of the countertops and then moved to the middle of the room.
So she never started in the middle of the kitchen and zig-zag all over the place. She kept moving from that one corner or room until it was decluttered and clean.
It literally lit up a lightbulb in my brain! I never thought of that and now I do this method all the time!
For example, if you’re in the living room and want to start cleaning but you see toys on the couch, the dishes are dirty in the kitchen, clothes need to be taken out of the laundry room….the list goes on!
You start picking up things and your eyes start to glaze over to the dining room with a whole LOT of paperwork…
Aht aht! Don’t touch it! This is when the corner method comes in.
You start in one room and declutter in that corner until that ONE room is done and THEN you move on to the next room.
If you’re in the kitchen and you have items that belong in other rooms/bathrooms, you will have to put all of those items back to where they belong until that kitchen is clean.
P.s. this doesn’t mean cleaning the other rooms with the items you’ve placed back. Put them in the room and walk away.
I promise this method will save your sanity. It seems awkward at first but you will feel the reward of having one room cleaned quickly!
Quick Power Cleans
Another time-saving hack I like to use is “Quick power cleans” I learned this method from another mom on YouTube.
So you would set a timer of 15 minutes (or 10) to power clean randomly throughout the day.
For example, if you need to clean the play area, dishes, or vacuum the floor, you can set a timer of 15 minutes to clean.
Then you stop when it’s over and continue your day.
Takeaways
This easy daily house cleaning schedule for busy moms can help you alleviate the overwhelming tasks and break them down for you by day.
Having a cleaning schedule and prep is key. Being a busy mom limits your cleaning days but we know it’s essential!
Maintaining a home takes practice, many many trials, and customizing how it works for YOU and your home.
It took me a long time to figure out how I can clean my home but now I’ve got a system in place that works for me and my family.
