Black Owned Hair Brands That Will Help Your Curls Thrive

Finding a curly hair brand as a mixed black little girl in the 90’s, was limited.

And a black-owned one? I don’t think I was exposed to any.

I remember a small section in the aisle of a drug store with hair products with items like “just for me” or  “Lusters pink lotion” that my Filipino mom used on my hair (even when she didn’t know what to do with my curly hair)

I wanted my hair to have smooth edges but I didn’t have many or ANY role models I saw that looked like me.

Frizz and tangles were my daily normal challenges.

Now that times have changed, black hair care products have been evolving, formulas are better, natural hair care brands have been on the market and more than ever we want to support more black businesses in this new climate.

The global black haircare market is expected to grow by 4.9 billion in 2033 and people are paying money to take care of their natural hair.

And this is a good sign! and we can support these black hair brands too!

Let’s Dive into this list of Black-owned hair brands that will help your curls thrive.

If you want to see more black-owned skincare in your routine, I can inspire you in my next post.
