Thinking about celebrating Valentine’s Day at home without leaving your house because of (A) not wanting to deal with crowds and (B) Not enough time to plan? Here are 9 Valentine’s Day ideas for couples at home.
Honestly, my husband and I usually like to celebrate at home because this day can get hectic! and he knows I can cook a better homemade meal than go out so we might try a few of these ideas! Of course, having some “Us” time is important too so I’m going to make an effort to create something a little special.

1. Create a picnic in your backyard or livingroom
Picnics are always a romantic idea for Valentine’s day! Creating a nice layout of blankets, yummy appetizers, a beautiful picnic basket, and delicious drinks is a must! You can always create something like this in your living room area if you don’t have a backyard. Add some music in the background and go into deep conversations with your partner on this one.

2. Cook a Meal Together
Yumm! now this can go both ways (good or bad) depending on how well you know around the kitchen. I suggest trying a cookbook (or Youtube) that provides easy, delicious recipes so no one goes hungry in the end. You will enjoy cooking with your partner, laughing, and learning about each other when making a meal together. Then you can both enjoy your Valentine’s day meal together with the fruits of your labor!

3. Become mixologists
This love day is for drinks ok! How about making it fun and playing a game where you both can create your favorite drinks and see which one you like best. Get creative with it by adding garnishes, color, fruit, etc. You can never have too much for an evening of Valentine’s day.

4. Get dressed up
It can get comfortable being at home and not having to dress up but there are many ways you can do this. You can dress up fancy, have a clothing theme, or be like us and probably do a matching PJ or lingerie evening (inserts wink). Sometimes putting in some effort to celebrate a day of love is needed and dressing up can elevate the excitement for you and your partner.

5. Learn a dance
The last time I learned a dance with my husband it was fun after a few mojitos (hehe) I learned how to salsa dance and ever since it’s been fun doing a dance that he’s been born to do. For something somewhat easy you can try going on Youtube and find a dance you both can try out and have some laughs while you’re at it!

6. Set up a cinema at home
Ooo I also love this idea, I was actually thinking of bringing out a charcuterie board of popcorn, snacks, and setting up a Valentine’s Day Movie theme for decor. It’s like bringing the movie theatre to your home but making it more personal and cute.

7. Have a game night
Are you into daring games or conversation starter game cards? Maybe you can try to have a personal evening without technology and try a game night. These can get competitive but always end on a fun or sexy note! Add some appetizers on the side and make this Valentine’s day more special.

8. Watch a marathon of shows
Binge-watch your favorite Valentine’s shows or movies together and create a theme around it! This is the perfect time to snuggle, eat (as you can see the theme here… eating is my fave) and make your favorite drinks too. Watch in bed, use your living room, or wherever!. A quick tip: Create a fun questionnaire to have your partner guess what show you will be watching next!

9. Scavenger Hunt
Create a sexy scavenger hunt in your home or bedroom and keep your partner guessing what’s going to happen. The best way to do this is to write things down on little pieces of paper and get creative on what you want him or her to find next. Dim the lights, add candles, roses, music, and whalah! Beautiful evening.
